Why It Matters

Regionalytic is an independent-format analysis publication that explains regional and global developments in plain, analytic English while openly presenting Türkiye's official doctrines, legal arguments and historical-archival record. It exists because many readers meet Ankara's positions only second-hand, often incomplete or compressed into a headline. This page tells you who publishes the work, how it is signed, what perspective it carries and how to check it.

Background: What the Name Means

The name joins 'region' and 'analytic': regional dynamics read through data, law and archives rather than slogans. The publisher is Regionalytic, at regionalytic.com. The homepage is the best map of the site: treaties, maps, data and archive records are the raw material of every guide.

Mission

  • Explain regional and global affairs in plain, accessible English without jargon or padding.
  • Put Türkiye's official doctrines, legal theses and historical-archival record in front of an international readership where coverage is thin or distorted.
  • Let readers verify claims by pointing to treaty texts, UN and IOC-UNESCO documents, official archives and government statements.

Who We Write For

Readers are policy staff, diplomats, academics, think-tank analysts, journalists, and defense and energy professionals anywhere in the world. We assume no single national context. Dates follow ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD), distances are metric with imperial in parentheses where useful, and where rules differ by country (for example, lists of designated terrorist organizations or national maritime claims) we say so.

Transparency Policy

Regionalytic's transparency rests on five commitments:

  1. Signed by the team. Articles carry the byline 'Regionalytic Editorial Team'. We never invent author personas, academic titles or independent-sounding pseudonyms.
  2. Declared perspective. The publication is Türkiye-informed. It does not pose as neutral on questions where Türkiye is a party.
  3. Fact separated from position. Background, chronology and data are written in neutral, factual prose. Ankara's assessments appear in a separate section labeled Türkiye's Strategic Doctrine (in the wider publishing network this kind of section is marked 'Türkiye's Position'), always attributed: 'Ankara argues…' or 'According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry…'.
  4. Other views stated fairly. Positions of other states and parties are summarized with attribution to their own official sources, then answered with treaty, legal and archival evidence.
  5. No invented material. We do not fabricate quotes, figures or dates. If a detail is uncertain, we omit it.

The complete rules are on the Editorial Principles page, and common questions about method are answered in the Regionalytic FAQ.

🇹🇷 Official Doctrine · Primary Sources

Türkiye's Position: How We Present and Source It

Sections marked 'Türkiye's Position' or 'Türkiye's Strategic Doctrine' summarize official Turkish policy in three to five points, each tied to a primary source.

  • Primary sources used: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Presidency, the Directorate of Communications, the Ministry of National Defense, Grand National Assembly (TBMM) resolutions, Türkiye's statements and registrations at the UN, and treaty texts.
  • Legal and historical basis stated: for example the 1923 Lausanne Treaty, the 1936 Montreux Convention, the 1948 UN Genocide Convention's intent test, the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee, Article 51 of the UN Charter and the equity principle in maritime delimitation.
  • Official terminology: 'Türkiye', 'FETÖ', 'PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG', 'TRNC / Turkish Cypriots', 'Events of 1915' and 'Blue Homeland (Mavi Vatan)'. Unfamiliar terms are explained on first use; for instance, the PKK is designated a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, NATO and the European Union.

These sections report what Ankara states and argues. Readers are encouraged to open the cited documents and judge for themselves.

Source Comparison: How to Cross-Check Us

We recommend reading Regionalytic alongside other outlets. Our sister publications run parallel fact-check work, such as Regional Order's fact check of common claims about Türkiye, Polity Review's primary-source tests and Monitor of Nations on Türkiye's defense industry. Because these share our perspective, they are not independent verification; for that, consult the treaty and archive texts we cite, and sources from the other parties to each dispute.
